Nelly Furtado -good things shortened version for music promotion version.
length: 38 seconds long.
[Honestly, what will become of me?
I don't like reality
It's way too clear to me
-(here i want the camera to be blury at beginning then when it says clear, to focus.)
But really life is dandy
We are what we don't see
We miss everything daydreaming
-(this part I want a couple sitting on a field surrounded by dandys, then I want them hugging and kissing and laughing, and walking around hand in hand, looking like they’re in love and bestfriends.)
Flames to dust
Lovers to friends
Why do all good things come to an end?]
-(this scene will be of a dark room and a red candle with a flame, then next to it there will be a picture of the couple left next to the candle and then a gust of wind whilst the candle flame blows out and the camera gets closer to the smoke off the flame, whilst this is happening clips of the transformation of the relationship will be playing.)

'love song'

To be able to write/create a song about 'love' you need to have at least some experience with it, this can affect how your song will perceive love. You can have a very negative relationship therefore the song will be negative. Usually love songs are about the deterioration of a relationship. This can relate to many people, therefore it sells. I find that if the song has a video that relates to the emotions it is more likely to be watched. Whereas Nelly Furtados 'all good things' video doesn't relate to the lyrics that much, that's why I decided to remake it. 'Love' is something everyone can relate to no matter what age, 'Love' is not a roller coaster it doesn't have an age restriction. All songs are there to be sold, to make money.. so love songs are becoming for commercial as the days go on, but whilst they still can be related to, they will continue to sell. Music is a key aspect in peoples lives, it can depress people, suppress peoples feelings and make them happy. It's all about making a song which can make people 'feel'.

Symbolism in my music video.

Sunrise - Sunrise is the light at the end of the tunnel. Night is dark and can seem to be endless as the minutes tick slowly by. We always know that the sun will rise and shoo away the darkness and a new day will be given to us. Sunrise symbolises hope, new beginnings.

Sunset - One of the most common symbolic meaning of a sunset is its representation of the coming darkness, the ending of the light. Darkness, loneliness. Night seems to come around quick and last for along time, whereas the light seems to come about quite slowly and leave fast.

How i'm going to use it - as the lyrics are about endings, I want to use the sunset and sunrise as an ending too. Also, I want this as my opening scene as the lyrics are 'i dont like reality, it's way to clear for me' I am going to open my piece with the beautiful sunrise, which represents hope and new beginnings, which will be in depth of field, quite blury, then it will go into the dark which is the 'it's way too clear for me' this shows that she hopes, dreams and longs for the light, but reality is the dark and  endless.

The field scene

In the parable of the weeds and wheat(Matt 13:24-30; 36-43), Jesus explains that a field is a representation of the world.

this will be tom and rebecca before the ending, happiness having the world in their hands, together.

The lift - this represents the relationship, it shows Tom is always in control, his feet remain firmly on the floor, whilst he lifts Rebecca in the air, so her heads seems almost in the clouds, this shows Rebecca is completely head over heels in love, this is everything to her, whereas the feeling is not mutual with Tom as he is found out a cheat later on. The way I will show this is, a worms eye view of Tom lifting Rebecca so it almost looks like her head is actually in the clouds.

The running through the field - this shows freedom, joy, love and care free. Their love is as natural as their surroundings, they're surrounded by blossoming flowers and nature. They are alone. This will show them as the modern, contemporary Adam and Eve. The world is in their hands.

Music promo. And Camera shots.

The close up shots of Nelly furtado are similar to the ones I want to use for my music promo, to show the artist on demand. Which is Rebecca Hulse.

I will be doing a similar sort of music promo like the ones used by X-FACTOR for artists. Such as Rihanna, Justin Bieber and Jessi J. But, I will be challenging the conventions of a music promo by only using one song. Not a college of many different songs.

original song and video

Nelly Furtado- All good things.

I think this music video is a bit vague, when I first watched it, I thought the narrative needed to be a bit clearer and the lyrics had so much potential to make an amazing video. Therefore I wanted to do this. Also, it's a very iconic Nelly Furtado song along with 'like a bird'. Also, Nelly Furtado hasn't really had any recent music, so I thought it would be different to chose an artist like Nelly rather than the more popular, Rihanna, Beyonce and Jessi J. I hope my finished product does justice to the lyrics and shows makes the narrative a lot clearer.

DRAFT scene from music video, style models for this scene and symbolism in scene.

This is a draft scene for my music promo video. This scene is a couple in love, running through a field full of flowers. To this lyric 'but honestly, life is dandy' the final product will be in a field.. not a classroom. But I just wanted to test out different camera angles that i'm going to use. My style models for this scene are 'that's what I go to school for' Busted. The clip of the field scene in this is only about 1 second.

Taylor Swifts song 'Tim Mcgraw' which is  a 'love song' about a couple splitting upAnd most of the video is showing flashbacks of their relationship. Which are in the field. This is my main style model.
Also, another T.Swift love song called 'love story' is a style model for this scene. This song is about a couple like romeo and juliet who find love. A classical fairytale.

I will involve symbolism in every scene, I want the male actor in my film to lift his girlfriend in the air, this shows his feet are firmly on the ground whereas she's got her head in the clouds. This shows she's the one who's madly in love, although he deceives her, but she doesn't realise at the time because she's away in her dreams. 'We are what we don't see, we miss everything , day dreaming.' This will symbolise this lyric. Also, in this scene, they will be cuddling on the field and when the girl is day dreaming the boy will be texting a different girl. Symbolises the girl missing the truth because she's too busy with her head in the clouds over this boy.
